Abbamead. Change-over now on Friday's

Abbamead was originally a wheel-right’s cottage and has been recently renovated to provide a peaceful and beautiful holiday setting; it is ideally suited for families of six, four, or couples. Located at Towan, now known as Eastcliff, next to the 500 year old Towancott, formally the old farm house and opposite the working dairy farm at the head of a quiet valley, the Cottalow is just 500 yards from the sandy beach of Porthtowan.  The small no-through lane is used for local access only and so  enjoys very low levels of traffic, making it safe and tranquil.

The National Trust

The National Trust owned beach of Chapel Porth is situated a mile to the east.  At low tide it is possible to walk along 2 miles of sand below the rugged 200-foot cliffs and explore the numerous caves and rock pools. The area is famed for surfing, and all the local beaches have a lifeguard service throughout the season.
